Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our web applications using Vue, SCSS, and JavaScript on the frontend, along with integrating APIs and advancing various systems and components with node.js on the backend. While we expect some projects to require frontend work, we anticipate this position will be more focused on the backend systems. Responsibilities also include collaborating with other developers and our design and product management teams, writing unit tests, and performing code reviews.

Qualifications

You are an ideal candidate if:

• You have a strong academic record (CS degree preferred but not required with relevant experience)
• You have at least 1-2 years of full stack experience.
• You are versatile
• You care about User Experience (UX) and take pride in exceeding the user's expectations
• You have a strong understanding of modern JavaScript including ES6 and beyond (we use ES6 and Typescript) and are experienced with Node.js
• You have experience consuming GraphQL and/or Rest APIs
• You have strong working knowledge of HTML/CSS and browser compatibility.
• You have familiarity with common frontend SPA frameworks such as Vue, Angular, and React. (We use Vue)
• You have a working knowledge of version control software, more specifically Git.
• You are familiar with and can build your own configurations using Webpack or Gulp (we use Webpack).
• You are a problem solver. You can understand the full scope of a problem and build a solution that addresses the need from start to finish. And you love to do it.
• You're detail oriented.
• You care about code quality. Our developers work as a team, and you take pride in writing code that other people love to work in.
• You get things done. You don't just solve problems. You find new ones and solve those too.

Nice to Haves:

• You have experience driving and maintaining the frontend architecture for large and/or complex applications.
• You have experience with Redux and/or Vuex (We use Vuex)
• You are comfortable with reading other coding languages such as Java and using UNIX shell commands.
• You have experience with Amazon Web Services, and other cloud services and associated APIs
